If you are booking less than eight weeks before your holiday than the full payment is required. How do I book my holiday if I am outside of South Africa? You can follow the same steps as outlined above, it works the same for South Africans as well as our international guests. If I make a provisional booking, am I bound by it? No, you only make a provisional booking to reserve your place for seven days. This gives you time to buy your airline ticket, holiday insurance and pay your deposit with the peace of mind that there is place on the holiday. You are only bound to your holiday once we have received your deposit and confirmed your booking. How do I know that my booking has been accepted? As soon as we have confimation of your booking details and your deposit, we will email and post you a written confirmation of your booking along with your receipt of payment, full invoice details, confirmation of outstanding balance and the payment due date. When do I pay the full/outstanding amount for my holiday? Your holiday must be paid in full eight weeks (56 days) before your departure date. This is usually made as two payments, the deposit on booking and the outstanding balance before eight weeks. If however you are booking your holiday less than eight weeks in advance you will pay the full amount immediately. I will be coming from overseas, how will I know where to go when I land? There will always be someone to welcome you at the airport (within our designated times), you will then join the group for the coach trip to the final destination. What happens if I cannot make it on time? On final booking we will furnish you with full details of our destination, our cellular phone numbers, recommended transport details etc. This will enable you to join the group at the resort, but these expenses are for your own account. I have booked a holiday, but need to change the dates, can this be done? Yes, you can change you booking without additional amendment fees if it is more than 56 days from departure and you are still going to the same destination. If you are changing your booking less than 56 days before departure then cancellation charges may apply as per booking conditions. Can I choose which room I want to stay in at the resort? The rooms at each destination are all similar and are allocated on a first come, first serve basis. I have heard that you can't take oil paints on an airline, is this so? Yes, you cannot take any flammable substances onto an airplane. These include oil paints, turpentine and thining medium. For this reason we supply our international painting guests with these. Along with your confimation of booking we supply you with a list of items to bring as well as a list of items that we supply. Isn't South Africa a dangerous place to visit? Like any other country it can be if you are travelling alone and don't know the area. The areas with higher crime rates are the cities and we will be in the rural areas of the country. Most people become victims of crime due to negligence on their own part eg. leaving valuables lying around, walking with heaps of cash in their hand etc. On our holidays we travel from the airport on major highways to the destination and back. South Africa is the most stable country, politically and economically, in Africa and is the most advanced on the continent. As with any holiday where you don't know your surroundings, follow the advice of your tour guide and you will be just fine. Dennis and Nolan always have their cellular phones with them in case of any emergency and both have undergone first aid training. What are the chances of being attacked by a wild animal? The chances are almost zero, if you follow the instructions of your guide. People only get hurt when they lose respect for there fellow mammals. All game drives are in open top vehicles accompanied by game rangers. The game rangers know each animal on their reserve and are trained to keep their visitors safe, after all their livelihood depends on it. Game walks are available on reserves only under guidance of experienced rangers or when safe to do so. Animals will keep a good distance from you for fear of their own safety and will only attempt to harm you if you provoke them or try to come too close to their young. As far as the resorts are concerned, they are surrounded by game fencing to keep out any animals and keep you safe inside. What other expenses will I incur while in South Africa? Your holiday is fully inclusive of your accomodation, meals (except self catering guests), teas, and group excursions / activities. Items not included in the price are lunch and dinner on Wednesday unless mentioned, beverages not mentioned in the itenarary, excursions taken on Wednesday (except Leopard Lodge), items of a personal nature eg. alcoholic beverages, room service, telephone calls, laundry, etc. Refer to each holiday's itenerary to double check as some holidays have different options, if you still have a query, please call us.
