Itinerary for Leopard Lodge

Sunday

Guests are met at Johannesburg International Airport by Dennis or Nolan between 9am and 1pm. We will have lunch at one of the local restaurants before leaving for Leopard Lodge at 2:30pm. It is only 1,5 hours drive to our destination where the city disappears and the hills start rolling past. At Leopard Lodge we unpack and meet for a sundowner on the veranda overlooking the Hartbeespoort dam. At dinner we get to know each other a little better before the weeks activities commence.

Monday

We paint the landscape overlooking the dam after breakfast. In the afternoon we capture the lodge on canvas as it makes a stunning painting against the mountains. Dinner is enjoyed overlooking the dam with the sun glistening on the water.

Tuesday

Today we paint one of the many bird species that inhabit the area, maybe the rare Cape Griffon Vulture that we constantly see patrolling the skies above us. Tonight we will have a boma braai (bush barbecue) with only the stars above our head and the sounds of nature to keep us company.

Wednesday

Wednesday is a busy day as we go sightseeing. There is so much to do here. The Elephant sanctuary where you can feed the elephants by hand, the rhino and lion park, Lesedi cultural village with their traditional dancers, the Ostri-san park where bushmen can be seen making crafts and ostriches being bred, you can even enjoy an ostrich steak in the restaurant. Lets not forget the ethnic craft market, which is one of the biggest we have seen. Here you can haggle over the price of the most stunning hand made African curios knowing that there are more - as far as the eye can see !! We pack in as much as time permits.

Thursday

After our outing yesterday, we have heaps to paint and what better than you feeding an elephant ! Tonight we will be dining on a traditional South African poolside braai (barbeque).

Friday

Today we capture the grace and rhythm of the traditional dancers on canvas. Tonight we hold our own mini exhibition and "encourager session" before dinner to review what we have done over the past week.

Saturday

After breakfast we leave for the journey back to civilisation and arrive back at the airport around 11:00am. You will then be able to catch flights from 1pm onwards.
