You wake up to the call of over 300 bird species. It is still early and you don't want to wake your partner up, so you just silently lie in the tent appreciating the sounds of the wild. After a while you quietly get out of bed and switch the kettle on.

With a warm cup of coffee in hand you leave the tent and take a relaxing stroll through the camp. The air is fresh and crisp on your face. Looking out past the camp complex there are wooded ravines, grassed open plains and numerous hills inhabited by more than 35 species of large animals including the "Big 5". It is so beautiful here it is hard to believe that you are on the eroded remains of an extinct alkaline volcano crater - one of only three in the world. In the distance you hear the distinctive call of a buffalo. You wonder if he will still be there when the group goes on a game drive and bush breakfast in an hours time. The thought of sizzling bacon and the fresh air is starting to make your stomach rumble. You head back to the tent....

Driving in the open game viewing truck is always a thrilling affair - will you see a leopard stalking a buck or a lioness playing with her cubs under a tree ? Your buffalo has moved on, but today you see an elephant and her calf idly breaking branches off a tree and eating the leaves. The group decides that this will make a perfect painting. Dennis and Nolan agree - today we paint elephants in class !
