Nolan conducted this workshop today and nobody had worked in charcoal before. He decided to start us off with a landscape to get into the swing of things. Although we were unsure of ourselves Nolan quickly put us at ease by demonstrating the relatively easy techniques.

After lunch we started tackling the elephant. Nolan made it look easy when he demonstrated it, but we found it tougher than the landscape. All in all we took two pretty respectable drawings home for absolute beginners, take look for yourself.
